DOROTHY GRIFFITH
Dorothy Griffith from Llansana in Clwyd, was accused of being a witch as a result of an argument between two families.
William Griffith claimed that Dorothy Griffith had cursed him. He said that he’d started to feel light-headed in front of witnesses, and Dorothy had blessed him in order to improve his health.
Dorothy was sent to trial in the Sesiwn Fawr. The people of Llansana testified to her good name, and that her family had argued with William Griffith’s family.
She was released from prison, and died the following year.
